Is the snow flying? Then the gang at Smitty’s Workshop is back in the kitchen whipping up batches of the yummiest peanut brittle you will find on this earth.
It’s an old Smith family tradition to spend some time around the holidays concocting the confection that sustains and delights through the cold months. Preparing, measuring, watching things boil, and stirring (very little) provide some needed time to slow down and contemplate the year’s accomplishments – and failures too. And, after its cooled and cracked, sharing this sugary gold with our family and friends – that’s the best part.
The SmittyBrittle Easy Crunch Secret Recipe™ has been guarded and passed down for four generations. Don’t ask for the secret. Grandma Mary wouldn’t even share the recipe with us until we had grown old enough to marry. (Grandma Mary – and her Grandpa before her – were serious about this stuff.)
If you’ve ever tried SmittyBrittle™ you know that thicker IS better.
On first sight you may have thought “What-the? That’s some thick brittle…”
And with your first crunch you likely mumbled something like “Ho.. Da-is g’Brill…” (Talking in mid-crunch is not advised.)
Succulent toasty peanuts (a boatload) wrapped in angel layers of sweetness that melt in your mouth with a light, crisp crunch unlike anything you’ve tasted before. Your teeth will thank you.
Happy Holidays from Smitty’s Workshop!
